CHRISTIAN MOTHERS
This ministry is to keep women aware of their high vocation, to aid them spiritually, especially in the character formation of their children.
CHRISTMAS GIVING TREE
This ministry started some 20 years ago. Before the Christmas season, our Pastor Fr. Larkin asked several parishioners to look into the needs of the migrant farm workers. We learned of the poverty and despair within the farm worker community. We decided to have a special Christmas collection of toys for the farm workers & children. A wicker basket was placed in the Narthex and approximately a hundred gifts were donated. The following year a Christmas Giving Tree was erected in the Church with tags stating ages and gender of the children. The response was very generous, and we were able to deliver over 200 toys. We now deliver over 2,000 gifts.
Every year the Christmas Giving Tree is placed in the Narthex from mid November until mid December. Tags listing children of all ages decorate the tree. Parishioners take them from the tree and buy a present for the gender and age listed, wrap it and bring it to the church. On the delivery day, we always welcome parishioners to lend us a hand in loading the truck.
COFFEE AND DOUGHNUTS
Coffee and Doughnuts are available in the School Hall following the 8:00, 9:30 and 11:15 AM Sunday Masses. Please join us for fellowship.
COUNCIL OF CATHOLIC WOMEN

The sessions are conducted by parishioners who facilitate discussions and provide sharing among those who have incurred the loss of a loved one. Referrals are also made for other support services in the community. The dates for the sessions are announced in the parish bulletin.

The members conduct blood pressure screenings once a month and host an annual Health Fair for the parish and community. We also assist individuals to liaison with appropriate resources in the extended community.

MINISTRY OF CONSOLATION
At the time of death, Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church celebrates the Funeral Rites to offer praise and thanksgiving for the gift of life which has now been returned to God. We also minister to the sorrowing by assuring the family and friends that they are not alone at this difficult time; that they are supported by the Parish Community. Members of the Ministry of Consolation meet with the family or friends to guide them in personalizing and implementing the Funeral Rites. They explain the symbols that are used in the rituals and the order of the Liturgy. They encourage family or friends to select the readings and music and to designate ushers, pallbearers, readers and Eucharistic Ministers. They attend the Liturgy to provide any immediate assistance.
MINISTRY TO THE SICK AND ELDERLY
The parish of Our Lady of Lourdes respects and honors those who, through sickness, old age or other reasons are prevented from taking part in the celebration of the Parish Liturgies and events. Each parishioner who is homebound and each Catholic resident in the 14 Assisted Living Facilities and the 6 Nursing Homes is visited weekly by a Eucharistic Minister who brings the Blessed Sacrament and spends time in prayer with them. Eucharistic Ministers visit the Hospital daily, taking the Blessed Sacrament to the Catholic patients. These volunteers become the vital connection between those who are suffering and the Parish Community. They become the contact with the priest requesting that the Sacrament of the Sick be administered. They become the liaison with the Pastoral Ministry Team that provides referrals for legal, medical and social services. Please notify the Parish Office at (727) 733-3606 if you know of someone in need of the Blessed Sacrament. Arrangements can be made for family members to take the Blessed Sacrament to loved ones on a short term basis.
RELIGIOUS ARTICLES GIFT SHOP
The gift shop sells quality religious articles, books, music and cards. Hours are: Sundays from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM and Wednesdays from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. The Gift Shop managers are Ed and June Belliveau. Volunteers are always needed to provide more hours. If you would like information regarding the Gift Shop or would like to volunteer, please call the Parish Office at (727) 733-3606.
